Hey John, you are simply getting my opinions, and I don’t claim to know everything — these are just my opinions, so can I make a suggestion? Register over at and create a new thread about your bike and you’ll get a ton of opinions and can then make the decision for yourself. As far as your bike and the title, I would call your local DMV and see what they say about the bike not having a VIN#, since without it some states won’t allow you to register it — which might be why it doesn’t have a title still.
Typically when a bike doesn’t have a title your state will create a new one when it’s registered. So it’s not a big deal, but without a VIN they might not allow you register it, and therefore, not provide a title for it. As far as the trade, that’s a tough question, KTM’s are really nice, but some don’t like the ergo’s and wouldn’t do it. I however, like KTM’s just fine and actually don’t like the KX450 ergo’s at all. So for me the trade would be a GO, but I can’t make that decision for you.
