Hi, Jjs186 and the usual suspects are: 1. Fuel tank empty. The fuel tank has old dead gas. Fuel tank bottom contaminated with ethanol sludge, dirt, water, rust, etc. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off. Fouled spark plugs. Engine flooded as a result of overuse of the enrichner.
Vacuum hose to the fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged. Fuel line to carburetor or throttle body pinched, kinked or blocked. Carburetor float stuck. Fuel injectors clogged.
Fuel injectors stuck open. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper 'LOAD' test if necessary, you may have a cursory reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead acid batteries. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at 'BOTH' ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, 'INSIDE' and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil or plug between ignition sensor and ECM module.
Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting check for spark leakage in the dark, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders. Ignition timing incorrect due to a faulty ignition coil, ignition module or MAP, CMP, CKP, O2, TPS, ETP, IAC sensors.
Faulty neutral, clutch lever, or kickstand safety switch. Faulty fuel pump or fuse or relay. A stuck bent or burnt valve. Tilt sensor needs a reset. Security system not disarming alarm needs a reset. Check for engine trouble codes. For more information about your issue and valuable 'FREE' downloads that you will need please click on the blue links below.
Good luck and have a wonderful day. Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need.
377 Answers SOURCE: There is a tool pouch under the seat.In it there is a tool for removing the spark plugs. I would recommend that you at least remove the gas tank. It'll make it a little easier to remove and replace the plugs. But, before you remove the plugs.Take an air compressor with a blow gun and blow out the spark plug ports, so no dirt or debris gets into the cylinder.
Remove one spark plug wire at a time.Blow the port out. Then remove the plug.Check it and if it's good, re-check the gap and reinstall the plug.Put the wire back on and move to the next plug. Repeat the above.
Make sure you don't cross-thread the plugs when you reinstall them.Make sure the wires are firmly on the plugs. And make sure you put the right wire on the right plug, which shouldn't be a problem if you only remove one at a time. And also make sure when you reinstall the gas tank that the fuel lines are firmly seated.
Removing and replacing your spark plugs is fairly easy. Posted on Dec 20, 2009.
Thread Title: Service Manuals by Model Year Last Update: November 2nd 2012 This thread evolved to discuss:. Model Numbers (for Model Year). Model Codes (for Purchasing Parts). Service Manual Publication Numbers. Service Manual Supplement Publication Numbers. Parts Manual Publication Numbers. Why you need the Model Number and the Model Code:.
The Model Number is generic across each individual model year. The Model Code indicates each individual Country or Region. Motorcycles often eventually cross international borders. Having the Model Number and Model Code can eliminate problems. About Service and Parts Manuals: When ordering a hard-copy Service Manual, be sure its the latest edition containing the 2002 service manual and the 2003 and 2006 supplements so that all model years are covered by a single manual-set.
The 2003 and 2006 supplements cover prior ommissions and new changes. The same Service Manual applies to Original and Midnight Warriors. Parts Manuals differ. About the Factory Build Model Year: For USA/ISO format VIN's, the best way to verify the factory model year is to decipher the 17-character VIN.
To avoid document errors, read the VIN from your motorcycle's frame neck, right side. The 10th character in the VIN is the model year: for example, a '2' indicates a 2002. This carries through 2009 so 10th character is a '9' for 2009 bikes. It appears the 2010 Canadian bikes use the same VIN sequence so for 2010 the 10th character should be the letter 'A' (but this is not verified). Yamaha also built Warriors that were shipped to a few other countries using an abreviated 11-character Frame Serial Number and the model year character is not represented, and also built a small number of 'special build' Warriors that were shipped direct to buyers in various countries and their Frame Serial Number (VIN) stamped on the motorcycle neck follows an alternate abbreviated format (differences if any are unknown). In these cases it is possible to determine the Build Model Year by comparing the ECU/Engine Code to other Warrior motorcycles because Engine Numbers are assigned (thus serialized) at manufacture. See: for help.

About the Color Code: To help you determine the factory color number, see the (usually white) sticker on top of the frame brace under your rider seat, and also note if the 'circle' is filled-in or not. Then see the separate chart (at the bottom of this section) dedicated to original color identification.
Note there may be two different 'black' colors for the Midnight Warrior even though Colorrite showns just one color with two different sold-as names assigned by Yamaha. For Original and Midnight Warriors, the frame and engine are the same color but the engine paint may be high-temperature (unknown). The 'black' wheel color varies between Original and Midnight models, and some Midnight model wheels may have slightly different 'black' hues. Additional information organized by Model Year is available at: www dot colorrite dot com. (note two 'r' letters) - About Identifying Parts Correctly: Use your known Model Year and your Model Code from below (example: 5PX1 or 2D81) to verify your parts are correct at time of order. The Yamaha / Star factory website and many dealer parts websites will indicate newer part number revisions but certain assumptions are often made based on country. For example, the Canadian factory and dealer websites will probably assume 5PX3 (etc) as shown below.
So if your Canadian Warrior is now in another country and you visit a local dealer's parts website, you may (or may not) find different part numbers. Resulting problems are unknown. As I read these the P/N LIT-11616-RS-W1 merely means to me that it is a bundle of the service manual and both supplements because when openedthe front pagestill references the service manual part number. I would also assume that because it has both the 2003 AND the 2006 supplements that there would be information contained in the 2003 supplement that supercedes the service manual but is relevant and therefore not needed to be rewritten into the 2006 supplement. So for 2006-2009 model years you would still need both supplements.
I have not checked all the information contained within to verify any of this. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
