The phone should also accommodate 4 AA batteries instead of the NiMH battery. (Be certain to never try charging the phone with the AA batteries inside, as it is not designed to do this.) The wall charger part number NTN1680 is listed as being no longer available from Motorola Solutions. However, during a Google search it appears several vendors still have these available for just over $7 US dollars. The i550 was a primary phone used in the iDEN Nextel system.
