G Allis Chalmers Tractor Repair Manual
Allis-Chalmers: those famous Persian-Orange Tractors Originally started in the 1840s in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, as a mining equipment and steam engine manufacturer, Allis-Chalmers entered the farm equipment sector in 1914 with a line of tractors, combines, compressors and electrical motors, among other products. From the late 1920s, Allis-Chalmers started expanding and acquiring other tractor manufacturers, and by 1978 it formed a partnership becoming Siemens-Allis, a supplier of electrical equipment. By the late 1980s, Siemens took control of the company, but later sold it to Deutz-Fahr of Germany, which became Deutz-Allis. Several acquisitions and name changes later, the company officially closed its doors in 1999, closing an important chapter in farm tractor history.
